The Retreat Facility
Well here we are.
The Retreat Facility certainly is a work in progress as you will see in the photos. I purchased the home in 1998 while on a trip here to go sailing on Lake Diefenbaker, which happens to be the longest sailing lake in Canada sporting a fabulous marina at and gulf course Elbow SK, and only twenty minutes south of Hawarden. Swimming, fishing, sailing all just a few minutes down the road, and, I have two canoes on site.
The home has two guest rooms available, renovated in a rustic style, that leave one feeling like they've slept in a mountain cabin. One with a queen bed and one with a double, and a roll out queen size hide a bed in the office.
The retreat can also be rented out for private functions when ever it is available. Give me a call to find out if it will work for your next gathering of six persons or less. In the mean time, enjoy the tour and thank you for taking the time to have a look.
Let's start the tour outside. . .
Above, 2003; Two of my sons, Roy on the left, Charley on the right relaxing by the pond after a hard days work filling the pond and moving approximately two tons of rock by hand. To date we've moved approximately five  ton of rock and still hauling more in to build the light house and waterfall...
"Okay, lets go inside now shall we...
More pictures of outside as expansion continues 2011..."
Above: The Kitchen 2008. My Son Roy and two of his friends had volunteered to brush laquer on the new cabinates built from recycled wood.

This required removing the 100 year old boards from the old buildings, pulling the nails, planing and sanding each plank indiviually, trimming the edges on the table saw and routering them and then building the actual cabinates with the planks.
